Assoc. Prof. Dato’ Dr. Badrul Akmal Hisham Md. Yusoff serves as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and Medical Director at UKM Specialist Centre (UKMSC), where his practice centres on Arthroscopy and Sports Injury. At UKM, he heads the Arthroscopy & Sports Trauma Unit, with a clinical focus on shoulder and knee surgery, cartilage bio-resurfacing, and regenerative medicine using mesenchymal stem cells. Dr. Badrul Akmal Hisham established the UKM Medical Center Orthopedic Stem Cell Therapy hub and has directed major clinical trials, playing a key role in forming the UKM Articular Cartilage Research Group. In addition, he holds the position of Course Director for the Fellowship in Arthroscopic Surgery and Sports Trauma UKM and is an examiner for the Conjoint Board of Orthopedic Specialty Committee of Malaysia. His approach to patient care prioritises joint preservation and multidisciplinary treatment at Orthosports-ukm, a Center of Excellence for Joint Preservation, Arthroscopy, and Sports Trauma.
