Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wong Chee Kuan serves as a consultant pulmonologist and medical lecturer at UMMC and UMSC, with a practice centred on complex respiratory conditions such as tuberculosis, COVID-19 pneumonia, asthma, and COPD. In his leadership roles, he heads the Division of Respiratory Medicine and chairs the UMMC Tuberculosis Committee, while also helping to shape national guidelines and approaches to disease management. His research has attracted international funding for clinical trials, and he has published widely on severe asthma and the after-effects of COVID-19. Dr. Wong founded a dedicated Difficult-to-Treat Asthma clinic and is committed to mentoring healthcare professionals, with the goal of enhancing patients' quality of life and supporting the eradication of tuberculosis by 2035.
