With more than thirty years of practice, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yau Weng Keong has played a key role in moving geriatric medicine forward in Malaysia. As a Consultant Physician and Geriatrician, he drove the major growth of Geriatric Services under the Ministry of Health and previously served as head of the Department of Medicine at Hospital Kuala Lumpur. His clinical focus covers dementia, falls, and geriatric rehabilitation, and he pairs this with a deep dedication to teaching and research—work that includes shaping Malaysian Clinical Practice Guidelines and launching university programmes. A committed champion of caregiver support, Dr. Yau also chairs the NSR Geriatric Subspecialty Evaluation Committee.
