About

Patients under the care of Associate Professor Dr Jeyakantha Ratnasingam benefit from an endocrinologist whose academic role keeps his practice current and evidence-based. His medical degree, an MD, was earned at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, and he later completed a Master in Internal Medicine at Universiti Malaya. Advanced endocrinology training followed under the Ministry of Health Malaysia, alongside fellowships and attachments abroad — at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane, the Pituitary Centre at Auckland City Hospital in New Zealand, and the endocrine clinic at Addenbrooke's Hospital, part of Cambridge University in the UK. At University Malaya Medical Centre he heads the Endocrinology unit. His clinical work covers the management of all major hormonal disorders, including type 1 & 2 diabetes, thyroid, pituitary, adrenal and gonadal disorders, osteoporosis, and neuro-endocrinology, with particular attention to pituitary conditions. Research and clinical trials in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolic bone disease form another active part of his work, and he contributes to national professional societies in leadership positions, among them the Malaysian Endocrine & Metabolic Society, Diabetes Malaysia, and the Malaysian Osteoporosis Society.
