At Island Hospital, Dr. Umadevi Vasudevan provides compassionate and comprehensive psychiatric care. Her medical journey began in 1985 with registration under the Malaysian Medical Council, and since then she has built a deep well of experience across the full range of mental health conditions — from anxiety and depression to complex illnesses such as bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. Dr. Umadevi holds an MBBS from Kasturba Medical College in Manipal, India, and later earned a Master of Medicine in Psychiatry from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). Beyond her clinical work, she is a senior lecturer, helping to train the next generation of doctors while remaining engaged with the latest developments in psychiatry. This combination of hands-on practice and academic involvement means patients receive knowledgeable, dedicated and empathetic mental healthcare.
