Dr. Yap Soon Jin practises as a Specialist in Anaesthesiology and Critical Care at Island Hospital, where he has devoted more than 25 years to keeping patients safe and comfortable. His Master of Medicine in Anaesthesiology was earned at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), and it rests on years of foundational medical experience. Because he works in both anaesthesiology and critical care, Dr. Yap is equipped to guide patients across the whole peri-operative journey — from the assessment that precedes surgery through to recovery afterwards — so that complex procedures are managed safely and with comfort in mind. He speaks English, Malay, Mandarin, Hokkien, and Indonesian, allowing him to communicate clearly and reassuringly with patients from many backgrounds.
