Her medical degree, awarded with honors, came from the University of Wales in the UK, and she went on to complete a Master of Surgery at the University of Malaya, graduating top of her class.

Professor Roslani founded the Colorectal Surgery Unit at the University Malaya Medical Centre, which has grown into the country's largest and most important colorectal unit. Honorary Fellowships from some of the world's most distinguished surgical bodies — the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and the American College of Surgeons — reflect how widely her expertise is acknowledged. She added to her skills through specialised training at the Mayo Clinic in the USA and St. Mark's Hospital in the UK.

Her work centres on surgery for colorectal cancer, and she established Malaysia's first Cytoreductive Surgery (CRS) and Hyperthermic Intra-Peritoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC) service.
