Hernia Repair in Malaysia

Overview

Hernia repair is surgery to return tissue that has pushed through a weak spot in the abdominal wall back into place and to strengthen that area, usually with a synthetic mesh. The most common types are inguinal (groin), umbilical (around the belly button) and incisional (at the scar of a previous operation) hernias. Most hernias are repaired by keyhole (laparoscopic) surgery through small incisions, or by open surgery through one larger incision. Surgery is usually recommended for hernias that cause pain or grow, because a hernia does not heal on its own and can become trapped, which needs emergency treatment.
