I visited Columbia Asia Bukit Rimau to consult gynecologist Dr. Loo. Unfortunately, after taking the medication prescribed, I experienced continuous diarrhoea, vomiting, dizziness, stomach pain, and became so weak that I could barely move for days. I called the clinic to ask whether I should stop the antibiotics since I have an allergy to certain medications. However, the nurse insisted that I had to return to the clinic in person just to ask this question, even though I was already in a very weak condition. I even asked whether there was any alternative, such as confirming my allergies over the phone and getting advice from the doctor remotely, but was told there was “no other way.” What disappointed me most was that during the consultation, everything felt very rushed. Although the consultation fee was charged at RM120 per hour, the actual consultation only lasted a few minutes. More concerning is that the doctor did not ask about my medication allergies beforehand, which I believe is a very important part of prescribing antibiotics safely. As a patient suffering from severe side effects, I expected more responsibility and concern from the clinic instead of being asked to come back physically just for a simple confirmation. It honestly felt more focused on charging another consultation rather than helping a patient in distress. I hope the clinic improves its patient care, especially regarding medication safety and post-treatment support.
