Patient reviews
Not recommend this Pantai hospital especially Dr.Toh neurology clinic... Very high consultation fees. I went to Dr. Toh's neurology clinic Block C Level 1, and the experience was very disappointing. The reception staff were rude and not welcoming. The consultation lasted only about 5–10 minutes. I informed the doctor that I needed to discuss the next step with my family first and would get back to him, but I was still charged RM200 for the consultation. I have visited other specialist clinics before at pantai, and I have never been charged such a high consultation fee for such a short consultation. The fee was unexpectedly expensive..I was also told to go to the Emergency Department (ED) even though I already had a referral letter from another clinic. The receptionist said they would not be responsible if anything happened to my daughter while I was waiting to see the doctor. I was shocked to hear such a statement from hospital staff. It was very upsetting and unprofessional. It feels like humanity is disappearing. These days, everything seems to be about money. Even when patients are going through difficult and stressful situations, compassion, empathy, and proper communication should come first—not just payment. Overall, I am very disappointed with the service and the way I was treated.... I CAN SHOW PAYMENT RESIT IF ANYONE NEED PROVE..TQ AND PLS INQUIRY BEFORE ENTER THE HOSPITAL...

Dr Toh Tsun Haw not good. Not friendly and just said he didn't know anything. Neurologist but cannot read MRI, he said he's not specialized on it.

I’m writing this review with deep gratitude for Dr. Toh Tsun Haw, Consultant Neurologist at Pantai Hospital Melaka. My mother has been living with Parkinson’s disease for about six years and is under follow-up with a government hospital. Over the past two years, our family noticed a significant decline in her condition: she felt weak all the time and struggled with simple daily activities like standing up from the chair or going to the toilet independently. She sits at home all day and refuses to socialise with others due to her PD condition. We decided to seek second opinion from Dr. Toh, and it was one of the best decisions we’ve made. Dr. Toh took the time to carefully understand my mother’s condition, her symptoms, and her existing medication regimen. What stood out most was his attention to detail and thoughtful, patient-centered approach. I was there personally during every appointment accompanying my mom. He made several small but crucial adjustments to her medications such as adding a nighttime dose and introducing another medication to help prolong the effect of her current Parkinson’s medication. These changes may have seemed minor, but the impact was truly life-changing. Within just three months of monthly follow-ups, my mother’s condition improved tremendously. Today, she has more energy and is able to function more independently. Willing to get out of the house to exercise and socialise again. It feels like she has been given a second chance at life, and as her daughter, I cannot express how much this means to me and our family. Thank you, Dr. Toh, for your expertise, compassion, and dedication. This is truly credit where credit is due. Highly recommended to everyone who is dealing with PD! Just a piece of advice: teamwork between the dr and the patient is necessary to achieve the treatment goal that we aimed for.

This is a review for Dr. Toh Tsun Haw, Neurologist at Pantai Hospital after hearing the experience my 80 year old parents related to me. Zero bedside manners, impatient, snappish, no empathy, cocky. And I believed that. My mom was diagnosed with Parkinson’s and was referred to Toh (I can’t even bring myself to call him a doctor as his professionalism is nonexistent). She is frail and dealing with a condition that is entirely new to her. Yes she may refuse to take certain meds but that’s understandable cos it makes her super drowsy. But as a doc shouldn’t you be understanding and reassuring? Comforting and kind? No, Toh was has no such traits. Instead he sounded condescending, and actually said “what you want me to do? It’s your body”. Was it really necessary? His tone of voice and mannerisms lack the empathy one expects from a doctor. Especially one from a private hospital. Even GP and govt hospitals have kinder doctors. It’s a shame Pantai has a doctor such as Toh associated with the hospital becos in general Pantai is a good hospital. My parents have been there a few times with different doctors who had treated them with kindness and respect, including the staff. This recent experience is just unacceptable. If only i was present in the consultation room, I would have given him a piece of my mind as no one should tolerate with this kind of rude behavior. My advice if you want to visit Toh, better off visiting other Neurologist in Melaka.
