Mahkota Medical Centre, founded on 30 September 1994, is the flagship hospital of Health Management International Pte Ltd (HMI Medical Group). Located at the heart of Melaka town, it is one of the largest and most established private hospitals in Southern Peninsular Malaysia (Company Reg. No. 199001009048 / 200619-H; KKLIU 0115/EXP 31.12.2026).
The hospital operates with a 305-bed capacity and is supported by over 200 highly experienced specialists across more than 47 medical and surgical specialties. It serves over 300,000 local patients and more than 95,000 international patients annually, making it a major medical tourism destination particularly for patients from Singapore and Indonesia.
Mahkota Medical Centre holds JCI (Joint Commission International) accreditation and is accredited by the Malaysian Society for Quality in Health (MSQH). It is also an MHTC-recognised hospital and a recipient of the GlobalHealth Asia-Pacific Awards.
The hospital's medical specialties span cardiology, general surgery, ENT and head & neck surgery, gastroenterology and hepatology, hepato-pancreato-biliary surgery, internal medicine and infectious diseases, nephrology, neurological and stroke centre, neurosurgery, obstetrics and gynaecology (including oncology), ophthalmology, orthopaedic and trauma surgery, paediatrics and neonatology, respiratory medicine, urology, dental surgery, clinical oncology, emergency medicine, and interventional pain management.
Centres of Excellence include the Cancer Centre, Chronic Kidney Disease Centre, and Diabetes Centre. Clinical services include a Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory, IVF Centre (with IUI, IVF and egg freezing packages), PET-CT Centre, Radiotherapy, Haemodialysis Centre, Rehabilitation Centre, Day Procedure Unit, Health Screening Centre, Chemotherapy DayCare, Clinical Research Centre, Psychology Services, Dental Centre, Aesthetic Centre, and Nutritional Food Services. Robotic-assisted surgery and virtual consultation are also available.
The hospital accepts Singapore MediSave and has dedicated International Patient Services with authorised representative offices. It is a member of HMI Medical Group which also operates Regency Specialist Hospital and Regency Medical Care Centre in Johor Bahru.
