Coronary Angioplasty in Malaysia

Avg. Cost: RM 30,030

Overview

Coronary angioplasty with stenting (PCI) is the most common interventional cardiac procedure. A catheter is threaded through the femoral or radial artery to the blocked coronary artery. A balloon is inflated to compress the plaque and a metal stent is deployed to keep the artery open. Modern drug-eluting stents (DES) release medication to prevent re-narrowing. PCI is used for stable angina, unstable angina, and acute myocardial infarction (heart attack), where rapid treatment saves heart muscle. Same-day or next-day discharge is common for elective cases.
