Dr. Tan Chiang Soo

Disappointed with the hospital's service. We came here to seek treatment from Dr. Tan Chiang Soo. We had received recommendations that this place was good. It is true, the doctor himself is kind. However, the hospital's service is unclear. We were told to arrive at 7 AM to take a queue number for blood tests and other procedures, and that was it. Suddenly, we were told the doctor wouldn't be available until 3 PM. Okay, we returned to our hotel. We arrived at 3 PM, waited for 2-3 hours, only to find out we were being called according to the initial queue numbers. Some others even had to wait longer. Once again, there was no information. People were just told to wait in a room with very cold air conditioning. I know your doctor is good and has a busy schedule, but people have other things to do; we shouldn't just be left sitting around here for hours. Why wasn't this communicated from the start? "After the tests, you will see the doctor in the afternoon"—I know there are surgeries, but those are scheduled. "You will be called according to your number when you return"—so people don't have to rush here just to sit around for a long time. We are paying here, this is not free treatment. The cost of treatment here is not cheap. We even had to fly a long way to get here. We have to pay for a hotel, exchange currency, and so on. But we are not respected at all. There is no clear communication. The nurses are uninformative and very rude; the service is sub-par. I do not recommend this place.

Thank you so much to Tim Insurance Department (Nurse Priyaa), all the nurses and admin team, and especially Dr. Tan Chiang Soo 💕 who very quickly assisted with our insurance processing. In less than half a day, our insurance was approved, and we could proceed directly with the catheterization and balloon procedure in the heart. The room was also very nice, allowing the caregiver to rest. The nurses were all kind, I really liked it. I highly recommend this hospital 💕

I received treatment at Northern and was attended to by Dr. Tan. Overall, Northern Hospital is good, clean, organized, and systematic, so the wait times were not too long. The clinic area and rooms were also very comfortable while waiting, and the equipment was modern and advanced. The doctors and nurses were kind and very friendly. As for Dr. Tan himself, he had excellent communication with me, was very detailed and patient in his explanations, and was very helpful in finding the best course of action. I had a stent and balloon procedure done by him. After the procedure, I was able to go home the very next day. Thank you, Dr. Tan. Thank you also to Nurse Rosita, who was very helpful at the clinic. She was very efficient and to the point, giving instructions that were very easy to understand and clear.

Thank you to Dr Tan Chiang Soo, Rosita, Lisa, and the team at Northern Heart Hospital Penang for the excellent care given to my dad. Dr Tan has been caring for him since 2012 and has always been experienced and reassuring. We are truly very grateful. 🙏
