What patients say
Dr. Kenneth Looi Chia Chuin is a paediatrician whom families describe as gentle, friendly and good with children, often putting young patients at ease and making them unafraid of their hospital stay. Parents repeatedly mention that he explains conditions and treatment in clear detail, answers their questions patiently and does not rush consultations, visiting regularly to keep them updated. Many note that children under his care recovered well after admissions for conditions such as influenza, RSV, rotavirus and asthma, and several families have returned to him over years for follow-up and vaccination.

A big thank you to Dr. Lisa (my O&G doctor), the nurses, and the other doctors (Dr. Collins, Dr. Tan, Dr. Mastura and Dr. Kenneth) who cared for me during my labor. I really struggled with the pain and felt very overwhelmed, but everyone was so patient, calm, and understanding throughout the whole process. Dr. Lisa was very reassuring and professional, and her stitching skills were excellent. She was gentle and precise, which made me feel much more at ease. The nurses were incredibly supportive and encouraging, and the doctors were also attentive and caring. I’m truly grateful for the kindness and dedication shown to me and my baby during such an important moment in my life.

The service at the front counter was good. However, I am very dissatisfied with the MO doctor in the Emergency Department name Mohd Fadhli Bin Mohd Yusof The doctor was rude and demonstrated poor hygiene practices. When he advised giving my son a PCM suppository, I asked why oral PCM syrup was not recommended instead, as my son is able to take medication orally. Rather than providing a proper medical explanation, the doctor responded rudely by saying, “Suka hati you la.” I asked because I genuinely wanted to understand the reason for choosing an invasive option. For reference, my previous pediatrician, Dr. Kenneth, whom I have consulted before, has never suggested a suppository. I brought my son to Columbia Hospital (Cheras) due to fever. During the examination, DR MOHD FADHLI took a spatula out of his uniform pocket and used it to examine my son’s throat. I was shocked by this action, as I am concerned about hygiene and infection control. It raised serious questions about whether the spatula had been used on other patients and then reused, since it was kept in his pocket. This experience has left me very worried. If my son were to develop any oral infection as a result of this examination, I would like to know what accountability the hospital will take.
