I never thought I'd give this favorite hospital of mine (due to its mere 2 km away from home) this kind of low rating. Dr. Harpreet, Dr. Chua, Dr. Salleh, Dr. Guna, Dr. Puvan, and Dr. Hazli have always been very nice and so professional to my parents since we migrated our family medical hospital to CAH Tebrau since February 2020. However, since I had the most painful colonoscopy in my life, I just have to write this review. I had an appointment to be seen by Dr. Salleh on May 25, 2026. However, he was not around as scheduled. I then requested for Dr. Omar, but he had a planned leave on May 26, 2026 and may not be able to proceed with some procedures on me. I had an elevated cancer marker for my colon and stomach and thus, I decided to proceed with just any other General Surgeon that was available, since I was already off work for the day. After meeting the General Surgeon, I was asked to go home with 3 sachets of Fortrans. I had sleepless night with the diarrhoea that only started at 11.45 pm, despite the Fortrans doses at 6 pm and 8 pm. I was only given one day of Sick Leave for that day. On May 26, 2026, I was admitted to the Day Ward. My mouth was sprayed with spicy and bitter sedation and a tube was hooked on my nose. I was asked to position myself in the left lateral decubitus position. I passed out when the nurse was fixing the endoscopy mouth guard on my mouth. I opened my eyes looking at the wide-screen TV in front of me. I could feel the doctor who seemed to be 'playing with a joystick' very roughly up my anus. I started screaming due to the pain at my rectum, but since I was paralyzed, only could only make some kind of sound. I know I was screaming for help. They saw the polyp. I saw the polyp. He said, "That one." My polyp was pinched, but somehow it slipped from the forceps. It was pinched again and twisted. I could see. I could hear them talking. I tried screaming again with all my might while my polyp was being ripped off the wall. I was still paralyzed. I saw the chunk was separated from my rectum wall and I passed out for the second time. I woke up in the recovery room. I wasn't even aware how I got there. The General Surgeon came and explained the findings, without any explanation about the source of blood in stool. I told him that this was the most painful colonoscopy I ever had in my life. He did not believe me. He gave me two days of Hospitalization Leave. I left the hospital, still feeling groggy. As soon as the sedative completely left my body system, that was when I started feeling crampy on my lower left abdomen. I thought that was what the one day of hospitalization leave on May 27, 2026 was for. However, it got worse. All muscles and joints became so painful, as if I've just been beaten up from inside. By May 28, 2026, I felt like my lower back was about to snap. I didn't bother to go back to see the General Surgeon because I know, he will not believe me and he will not explain anything about my awareness during the colonoscopy. So I went to a clinic to seek for a fast help (instead of doing the 'take number-wait-register-wait-see doctor-wait-pay-wait-pharmacy-wait-take medicine' cycle). I got some painkillers and a 3-day MC, which I have spent sleeping most of them time until I started writing this review. For all these: 1. I now have unnecessary 4 days of Sick Leave in my work record (my work attendance record have been extreme good). 2. I only have 2 days of Hospitalization Leave for all the procedures, the turmoil and the pain that I have gone through. 3. I've been questioned by my HR Department about the 'only 2 days of Hospitalization Leave' when I was really in pain for a few days. 4. I'm not sure if I should go back to the same General Surgeon to get my biopsy result. 5. I'm wondering if CAH Tebrau will actually look into an awareness case seriously because IT WAS SO PAINFUL to be in that situation. I am open to discuss this, before any other patients had heart attack enduring such excruciating pain when they were supposed to be fully sedated.

Thank you for the care of Dr. Salehudin and the nursing team especially team MD6 during my admission in the hospital (29 April to 1 May). As I was having lactational issue, the nurses even help to request midwives to go to my ward to give me some advice. With the help from the doctor and the nurses, I am recovering well from the surgery.
