Dr. Vanessa Naseem Neoh, MBBS, FRCS, is an ophthalmologist and oculoplastic surgeon at Island Hospital in Penang, Malaysia. Her Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) in Ophthalmology was awarded in 2003, and she went on to complete subspecialty training in oculoplastic surgery at Rotterdam Eye Hospital in the Netherlands, National University Hospital in Singapore, and Serdang Hospital in Malaysia. She was instrumental in setting up the Oculoplastic Department at Penang General Hospital. Her contributions to the specialty include serving as Secretary of the Orbit and Oculoplastic Chapter at the Academy of Medicine Malaysia and as Founding Chairperson of the Malaysian Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. She has also been a councillor for the Asia Pacific Society of Oculoplastic and Reconstructive Surgery (APSOPRS) and holds a key position on the Women Ophthalmologist Worldwide (WOW) executive committee. Her service has been recognised with honours such as the Excellence Service Award from the Ministry of Health Malaysia and the Asia Pacific Association of Ophthalmology Achievement Award. In addition, she takes part in conferences both locally and internationally and has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in ophthalmic and oculoplastic surgery.
