I was unsure which doctor to choose, and ended up picking Dr. Sandev randomly. I’m so glad i did! From the start, he was so welcoming, kind and patient. He never rushed and took the time to listen to my concerns, which helped me feel like i was in good hands. I had both colonoscopy and endoscopy for the 1st time and i couldn't be more impressed with the level of care and professionalism i received. The procedure went smoothly and i dont feel any pain. If you’re looking for a Dr. who is both skilled and compassionate, i highly recommend him. Hi Dr. if u read this, pls continue to be the wonderful person u are. While courteous, we had a disappointing experience with price and diagnosis explaination. The given estimated cost for my husband’s colonoscopy was RM4-5k, but the final bill was RM6.3k. When I asked for the total and copy of receipt during checkout, the staff seemed surprised, implying if I really needed it since insurance will cover. Dr Sandev initially said the procedure was optional just for peace of mind and charged RM235 (max rate) for a “complex” first consultation. On the morning of the procedure, we were charged another RM235 for another “complex” consultation. There was no actual consultation that morning before the procedure apart from him asking, “Hi, how are you doing?”. Nothing else. When we questioned the charges, he said they are standard with rates at his discretion, quote him “its up to me”. (Thats a really bad basis for someone who is asking for a logical explaination. Moreover, he could only recall the higher rates when quoting back to us the rate structure, he couldn’t recall the ‘simple’ most basic rate). During the results review, we were told scans was fine, no clear cause and its probably IBS and we can read up on brain-gut axis that its very complex but not serious. Then asked us if any other questions. To be honest, we expected clearer guidance rather than relying on us to ask the right questions. And if brain-gut axis is complex (even for a doc), perhaps we could have gotten a better explanation than relying on ourselves to read up. After we raised concerns on the RM6.3k and ‘complex’ charges , Dr Sandev waived our follow-up charge, which felt more like damage control than out of care. This feels like an experience that reinforces concerns about private hospitals overcharging, especially when insurance is involved. While insurance covers the immediate cost, such practices contribute directly to our high rising premiums— Transparency and fair pricing should be the standard, not the exception.
